A FTSE 100 organisation asked for HR support in closing its aerospace business in Cumbria. The project was particularly sensitive, given the relocation of a proportion of the work to Europe and the long service of many employees in an area with few employment prospects. The site was actively represented by Unite.
The Consultancy assisted with the planning of the project and undertook consultations with the Union's National Officers. Following the announcement, the Consultancy worked with the Management Team to structure the closure programme, compile and negotiate severance terms, field over 100 days of consultations and manage individual employees’ needs.
